A Work in Progress
Well, actually two works in progress. There’s the blog; this is my first venture into creating a website. And then there’s me.
I have recently begun a journey of introspection and healing after two decades of living in an alcoholic marriage. Interestingly, I can describe both the blog creation and the healing journey with the same words — challenging, inspiring and frustrating!
The learning curve, my friends, has been nothing short of gigantic.
But what to tell you about me…? Hmm… I am a woman, a wife, a mom of two, a step-mom of three, and the beloved human of four dogs (five if you count the grand-dog who occasionally sleeps over when my son goes out of town). I am the child of a city boy and a country girl who worked hard to raise my younger brother and me to be honest, kind, caring, and grateful human beings.
I’ve always been fiercely independent (asking for help is SO hard, but I’m learning!) and always ready to share my (mostly) well-reasoned opinions on everything from movies to food to current events.
I love to get creative in the kitchen with both cooking and baking. I’ll be sharing lots of recipes I’ve discovered for quick, nutritious meals, because ‘what’s for dinner?’ is a tangle we all wrangle daily. Pop over to the Recipes page and see what’s cooking!
I am also a proofreader and editor with an internal radar for mistakes that I can never shut off. Even if I’m not looking for errors, they still jump out at me like creepy clowns in a haunted house. One of my missions in life is to stamp out grammatical and spelling errors from all copy everywhere. Check out the Work With Me page to find out how you can put my inner word nerd to work for you!
So, if you notice a tweak or two on these pages as we go along, I hope it won’t be too bothersome. I’m always willing to listen to constructive criticism. If you have suggestions you’d like to share, or if you have been through the ‘start your own blog’ experience, I would love to hear how you did it!
